Prompt: Write about something you’ve outgrown but still miss.

 Man, this prompt is hard for me because if you ask any of my family members, they'll tell you I don't really outgrow stuff I find fun. For example, I still like to play Wii Sports, which is something I have done since I was in kindergarten. I'm sitting here racking my brains trying to find something I've outgrown. I'd say the biggest thing I've outgrown and miss the most is the feeling of Christmas as a little kid. It never feels like Christmas anymore and I think it's because I've grown.


Today I did a writable assignment on chapter 7


I learned more in depth the metaphors in the book about Cheryl's growth.

 My cultural heritage shapes my expectations just like in "Girl" by Jamaica Kincaid, but the tasks that I have to do are a little different. Instead of doing something like hanging up laundry, I have to take care of my dog and do the dishes, for example. I also have to take out the trash and do other various chores. Culturally, all of these chores are done by the teenagers in the family.  In class, we read and discussed the passage "Girl" by Jamaica Kincaid.  I learned how to critically think about a passage of reading and how to read intelligently. Write about a dream that felt real.

 One dream that felt real was when I went to school with no pants on. I had no idea it was happening until everyone was looking at me and I remember feeling super scared. I woke up and I was like how on this planet earth did I straight up forget to put on pants and it was just really confusing. I remember waking up scared thinking it would somehow happen to me in real life even though I knew it would never.  Today in class we finished Fences and worked on our poster. The book was very interesting. Troy ended up dying and the resolution was that Cory went to his funeral.

Everyone has burning questions about life. Mysteries we wonder about but don’t always have clear answers for. Think about your biggest questions about existence, purpose, or the world around you. Write a blog post where you share at least two of your most burning questions about life and explain why these questions matter to you.

 My first question about life is how far can any human physically kick a field goal? It's random, but I want to know how far I can push myself physically to get the maximum distance possible before I start to deteriorate due to age. My other big question is where am I going to work when I grow up. Today in class we read "I, Too" by Langston Hughes, and found the aspects of cultural identity. This helped me to learn about the struggles and triumphs of black americans before the civil rights act.
