Troy’s complaint about the unfair job system shows his frustration with racial discrimination. How did this conversation make you think about fairness and opportunity in society today? If you were in Troy’s position, what would you do?

The conversation made me glad that the workplace is a lot more fair that it was back in the day. I'd like to say that if I were Troy, I'd stick it to the man and demand that I get treated fairly in the workplace, but in reality, I'd probably be too scared to do so because of the repercussions that could happen because of it. I suspect that Troy is going to advocate for himself to be treated fairly.

Today in class, we read scene 1 of Fences. It was quite interesting.

I learned about racial discrimination from the 1950's and how it affected workers.
