As Celie’s world expands in these letters, she begins noticing new things about the people in her life. Write about a moment when you suddenly noticed something funny, shocking, or unexpected about someone you see every day (a family member, a classmate, or even a teacher). How did that new discovery change the way you saw them?

One time that I noticed something funny or shocking about someone is when I noticed that I listen to the same music as Vincent. I saw one of the songs on one of his posts was a song that I like and a band that not many people know. It was a very fun bonding experience to realize that Vincent and I share a common interest. It really made me and him better friends. We watched videos in class of everyone's chapter. I learned more in depth about all the chapters in the book from how everyone saw them from their own perspective.

These letters show how Celie learns from the people around her, even in small ways. Think of someone in your life who influences you in a positive, everyday way—a friend, relative, teacher, or teammate. Write about what you’ve learned from them and how their influence shows up in your daily life.

One person that positively influences me every day is my dad. He makes me do the things I don't want to do and makes me a better person. I learned a lot from him about how to be a better mucisian. He makes me work really hard to get better. He also is funny some times. Today we read "the color purple" I learned about the characther progression of Celie.

Prompt: Creating a video is more than just placing pictures together—it’s about capturing a feeling. Explain how you tried to bring your assigned letter to life in your Adobe Express video. What mood were you aiming for, and how did your editing choices help you communicate the message or emotion of the letter?

I tried to bring my letter to life by using vivid imagery and music that appealed to the senses to express the mood of the chapter. I went for a lighthearted mood to go with letter 18. The editing choices I made were the images being bright and funny and also a good song choice. The hardest part was finding the right music. The dad gum choices were absolutely horrible, they were like the stock photos of music. As an aspiring music major, I had 4-5 different songs I was thinking about to play underneath the video, but I couldn't find any, so that was a challenge.  Today I presented my chapter. I learned about the other 20 chapters that everyone studied and focused on and it was fun.

Talk about an aspect of the letters

One aspect of the letters that I want to know more about is Celies infatuation with Shug Avery. Why is it that Celie won't ever shut up about dad gum shug Avery? Is she really that cool? I think something's going to happen between them because why is Celie just so obsessed? I'm a little nervous for what might happen in the future.  Today we read to letter 18 in The Color Purple and watched a short video I learned about the struggles and consequences of abuse.

Prompt: In letters 6 -10, we see how Celie starts noticing the strength of people around her, like Shug Avery’s independence and confidence. Think about someone in your life who inspires you to be stronger or more confident. What qualities do they have that you admire and try to learn from?

One person that inspires me to be strong and confident is Chuck Norris. Chuck Norris is the coolest person ever to live, and the greatest martial artist and actor ever in human history. Some might say Chuck Norris could hear sign language. Behind Chuck Norris' beard, there is no chin. There is only another fist. Chuck Norris can make onions cry. Chuck Norris cooks minute rice in 30 seconds. Chuck Norris can even slam a revolving door. Chuck Norris is who I strive to be. Today we read letters 6-10 from "The Color Purple" I learned about the characters in the book and how they develop

Prompt: After reading the first five letters of The Color Purple, reflect on your thoughts and emotions as you experienced Celie’s early voice and struggles.

After reading the first 5 letters of The Color Purple, I realize it is a very strange book. The contents of it are very graphic and uncomfortable to read it was very weird having to hear Mr. Rease read the crazy content out loud and it made me cringe whenever he would say something absolutely abominable. If the book stays this inappropriate, we're going to be uncomfortable for awhile. It's going to be interesting seeing how the main character grows and develops, but I'm nervous for what we will have to read until then. Today in class we read the first 5 letters of "The Color Purple." I learned about the struggles of uneducated people in rural society and the danger of abuse.
